So, I recovered our 8 chairs in the dining room. With help from my Dad, a trip to the hospital and my friend Mardig (An upholsterer) we got the job done.

Thank you to the emergency room Doctor and his good sense of humor my finger was saved.

Some of my favorite "Momma" things...

Ahhh, have I ever told you how hard it is to blog with two babies? Well, it is! Anyways! While Journee naps in her bed and our trusty swing keeps Emersyn sleeping here's a post I have been waiting to do.

Some of you may know, I am getting a nephew in early May, My brother and sister in law Aaron and Michelle are expecting.
Annnnd, My other brother and sister in law Kaley and Jord are expecting a baby in July. We don't know the gender yet but are anxiously awaiting...I have LOADS of baby girl things I would LOVE to pass on...We will know of Feb.

I also have friends expecting (YAY BABIES). I thought this would be a neat post, being a 2nd time Momma I feel like I have learned SO MUCH MORE the 2nd time around and am so happy with some of my purchases that make life easier.

Here are a few of my favorite things...

Breastfeeding Mom or not. This cover can be used to shelter babes from the sun or to nurse comfortably in public. Its wide and long. I have NEVER experience a "peep show" in public of a bare tummy or worse, BOOBS. Well worth every.single.penny.

Soother Clip. Although Emersyn doesn't like soothers, Journee did and I loved this light weight, oh-so-cute clip.

Bugaboo Chameleon.

LOVE THIS! For a single child, obviously.

Light weight, Tiny frame for all of this teeny mall isles. Not to mention, a bassinet which we used all the time if Journee needed to sleep at someones house.

Can be found on Kijiji.

Ergo Carrier. A LIFE savor for walking with a toddler.
We used this for Journee and can STILL use it. You can carry baby/toddler up to 40lbs, COMFORTABLY.
When using with a newborn you need an infant insert.
Has great pockets for cell phone, keys, soother, etc.
I always have my stroller and my Ergo. You just never know :)

Thank you Lord for my Woombie. Enough said.
No seriously, the single best swaddle system. Emersyn is going onto 4months and I don't see her not wearing this to bed anytime soon. Again, super affordable and WORTH IT! You can get all different sizes and colors.

A natural way to soothe baby!
My mother in law first bought these for Journee. They have colic for sore tummies, Cold, and teething. All worked for Journee. The only one so far we have used for Emersyn, works.
(Can be bought at your local drug store)

Cloth Diapering.
I wish we would have done it sooner.
In a previous post I share the diapers we now use as well as where they were purchased.

No smell, no mess.
Love our diaper genie. Even with cloth diapers, we still toss wipes away.
(Can be bought anywhere baby supplies are sold.)
We buy our refills from Costco

BOTTLES
Unfortunately, I don't have any real bottle advice.
I can tell you, I do not suggest Avent bottles as they leak.
I have used Playtex with the liners, I like the pre-sterilized liners so the only thing needing to be sterilized is the nipple. YAY less washing :)

I own this breast pump and LOVE IT! Its tiny, light weight and can go anywhere.
However, I do not suggest buying a pump until you know breastfeeding will work for you. Its a lot of money to spend if you decide to a. Not pump or b. Formula feed

BLANKETS
You can never have too many. period.

Thats all I can get to right now. I am being summoned by my 3month old :)

A Shout out...

to the worlds BEST Papa!

There is no exaggeration in my saying, My girls have the most AMAZING Papa!

He was a truly phenomenal Dad and an awesome Uncle but when I pictured him as a Papa I knew he would be a good one, I just didn't know how good!

He ALWAYS has time to make "Supper" with Journee, give free shoulder rides, give and recieve BIG hugs and sweet kisses, even if the price he pays is a head cold. He is simply wonderful.

I'm sure if you asked Journee who her "bestfriend" was, she would say her Papa. I really can't blame her, he's one of mine too.

Emersyn has SO MUCH to look forward to with her Papa. I'm sure there will be some argument about "who gets to cuddle Papa first". I know he will handle it well :)

Goin' Green!

I had explored "going green" and using cloth diapers when I was pregnant with Journee and chose disposable for convenience.
Other then disposable being super expensive and going through them so much quicker when your babes is tiny, this is one reason to go cloth but also speaking with friends who cloth diaper their babies I have learned so much. So, I started to explore...

Here's what we came up with...

BambinoBUM clother diapers with mircrofibre lining.
(In all sorts of fun colors)

I chose these because of fit, as well as these diapers will grow with Emersyn. One purchase, thats it!

Here's Emersyn with her new found love of sweet, soft, microfibre on her bare, cute bum!

There's LOADS of places to purchase these cloth diapers. I found http://www.calgaryclothdiaperdepot.com/ it is run out of a stay-at-home Momma's house along with her 3 kids (one, being a new baby). She was sweet, very informative and I loved being able to support a home based business here, in Calgary.

So far, Emersyn is currently wearing her 3rd cloth diaper. I wish we would have done this sooner, when Journee was a baby!

No time like the present though, right?

Emersyn turned 3 months yesterday!

January 16th marks Emersyn's 3rd month. I can't believe she has been part of our little family for that long. She has accomplished so much in her 3 months here...

At 3 months Emersyn...

Smiles A LOT!
Has started to giggle
Sleeps through the night
Has a night time schedule
DOESN'T nap during the day, hardly
Knows how to throw fits and get attention
Stays happy/occupied in her Bumbo or Play Mat for extended periods of time
Has really started to notice Journee and enjoys her silly antics

Has completely captured our hearts

A trip to the Hospital...

On Friday the 13th, of course!

Without getting into too much detail, Emersyn gave me reason to take her into the hospital to see if she had a UTI. After much stress (on my part) and crying (on her part) we left after about 3 hours and no real answers. Emersyn is in great spirits and her happy, hungry self. We're waiting on test results.

Being a Momma can be so tough sometimes.

Tonight Journee and I went out to see "Beauty & the Beast" 3D! This is her second Movie Theatre experience. She does so great.

I love her whispered commentary through out the movie.

How awesome to share a movie from 1991 that I LOVED and I was able to watch it again with her.

I couldn't help..

..but look through baby pictures of Journee as I think about planning her THIRD Birthday.

As I write this I can't help but become misty eyed (lame I know). God has blessed me in a way I never thought imaginable. I have a wonderful husband, the sweetest 2.5year old I could ever ask for and of course my baby Emersyn.

But this post, it's dedicated to my biggest little love!
